Drogbad the Bad

I've just been reading about Didier Drogba throwing a coin into the away end after he scored last night, and I find it a bit odd.

Now, I may have an inherent hatred for Drogba, although no more than I have for most of the Chelsea shitterati, but I can't see how he should ever be allowed to play professional football again.  Am I being optimistic?

Well, yes, probably.  The thing is, every time a fan throws a coin/mobile phone/feces on to the pitch, there is outrage, and demands for lifetime bans for those involved, and life time bans are usually what is handed down.

But wait!  Are football fans who throw coins at players different to Mr Drogba in any way I wonder?  Of course they are.  They are thugs, vagrants and vagabonds, with nothing better to do than throw things at professional sportsmen. Didier is clearly a refined individual, intelligent and wise, a gentleman footballer of the 1950's mould.  I mean, a thug wouldn't give such a genius synopsis of his actions as "The big mistake I did was to throw it back" Really Didi?  You don't think there would have been a problem if you had picked the pound up and bought a can of pop with it instead? Controversial.

If we look at the last time something like this happened, with Jamie Carragher in 2002, we can expect a 3 match ban, and a fine equivalent to fining me £2.50

If I was one of these "thugs" that had received a lifetime ban from attending football matches for doing the exact same thing these two untouchable cowards had done, I'd be a little upset.
